Chiropractic care has been a part of my life for more than 25 years. I know first hand of its benefits and I can’t imagine not going to the chiropractor for better health! In the summer of 2005 an opening at Kent St. Family Chiropractic coincided with my search for work and I was thrilled to be welcomed to this team of professionals.

Being a front desk Chiropractic Health Assistant has given me opportunity to meet some amazing people, hear their chiropractic stories and share my own. Through working with Dr. Croutch, Dr. Kinsinger and the other chiropractic assistants on staff my knowledge and appreciation of spinal health steadily increases. I look forward to meeting our next amazing patient and walking with them on their road to optimum health!

I have my degree in Nursing and thought my career would be in hospitals or Public Health. The first time I really thought about chiropractic I was in severe pain and could hardly breathe. I was told I could either go to the emergency room, take muscle relaxants, pain killers and be on bed-rest for 3 days and miss work, or I could go to a chiropractor who would probably give me very quick relief. I went to see the chiropractor and with one adjustment the pain was gone and I could breathe freely. WOW!

Since then chiropractic has helped me with many chronic health problems for which the medical profession offered no successful help (IE: headaches and chronic back pain). I still need my medical doctor for some things, but nowhere near as often because I am so much healthier because of chiropractic.

I love working with my husband, helping people get healthier and stay healthier. It is much more rewarding than any nursing job I ever had. Seeing amazing, and at times, very quick recoveries to debilitating problems when I know how little the medical profession has to offer them. I particularly love to work with elderly people who know they are headed in the direction of a wheelchair and a nursing home – and then to get a postcard from them as they are traveling – something they knew they’d not be able to do without chiropractic help. Now that’s exciting!

I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from Lakehead University in 2019. Upon graduating, I worked as a physiotherapy assistant in a long-term care home for a year in Thunder Bay. Working with the elderly population in a long-term care setting was both rewarding and challenging and was a great stepping stone to the beginning of my career. I then moved on to working as a physiotherapy assistant in a multi-disciplinary clinic where I was working with all different types of cases and using many different types of modalities to help heal our clients. I enjoyed the learning process of working in a clinic as well as the fast pace of a busy clinic.

When I found SpineWerx, I had not put a lot of thought into Chiropractic care because I always thought I would go into Physiotherapy after I graduated. However, working at SpineWerx has opened my eyes to a different aspect of health care that looks into prevention, correction and natural healing of the body. I am thankful to have the opportunity to expand my knowledge and continue to learn and be able to help people throughout their healing journey.

I was excited to become part of the SpineWerX team, not only is it a great place to work I also know first hand the quality of patient care that is offered, as I started out as a patient myself before joining the team.

With a background in healthcare I love to help people reach their health potential and being part of the SpineWerX team allows me to be part of this every day.

Being at the front desk I get to see everyone that comes into the office, find out how their day is going and have a little chat, I get to watch the progress that they make with each visit.
