I have my degree in Nursing and thought my career would be in hospitals or Public Health. The first time I really thought about chiropractic I was in severe pain and could hardly breathe. I was told I could either go to the emergency room, take muscle relaxants, pain killers and be on bed-rest for 3 days and miss work, or I could go to a chiropractor who would probably give me very quick relief. I went to see the chiropractor and with one adjustment the pain was gone and I could breathe freely. WOW!

Since then chiropractic has helped me with many chronic health problems for which the medical profession offered no successful help (IE: headaches and chronic back pain). I still need my medical doctor for some things, but nowhere near as often because I am so much healthier because of chiropractic.

I love working with my husband, helping people get healthier and stay healthier. It is much more rewarding than any nursing job I ever had. Seeing amazing, and at times, very quick recoveries to debilitating problems when I know how little the medical profession has to offer them. I particularly love to work with elderly people who know they are headed in the direction of a wheelchair and a nursing home – and then to get a postcard from them as they are traveling – something they knew they’d not be able to do without chiropractic help. Now that’s exciting!

I find to be a chiropractic technical assistant is a very rewarding career. I enjoy all aspects of my job, but what I like the most is the interaction I have with the patient’s. The opportunity to be part of a team that helps alleviate discomfort is invaluable and makes you feel great about your work. Just knowing that we are helping to improve our patient’s lives and give them some relief from pain for a better quality of life is very rewarding.
